Your safety and the protection of our wildlife are our highest priorities. Please review these essential rules before your journey.
Feeding wild animals disrupts their natural foraging habits and can make them aggressive toward humans. This is a punishable offense by the Department of Wildlife Conservation (DWC).
Plastic and waste are lethal to wildlife. All trash must remain in the vehicle and be disposed of outside the national park. We strictly follow a 'Leave No Trace' policy.
Always maintain a safe distance from wildlife. Attempting to touch or provoke animals is extremely dangerous and stressful for the creatures. Let them roam freely.
Never step out of the safari jeep within the park boundaries, except at designated resting spots. Wild animals are unpredictable and can be perfectly camouflaged in the bush.
Climbing on the roof or sides of the vehicle is strictly prohibited for your safety. Sharp turns and low-hanging branches can cause serious injury.
While traveling on the main public roads toward the park, please remain seated. Standing in a moving vehicle on public highways is against traffic law and hazardous.
Habarana Elephant Safari (HES) and its partners are not liable for any injury, loss, or damage resulting from the non-compliance with the safety regulations stated above. The Department of Wildlife Conservation (DWC) has the right to remove and fine any guest who violates national park laws.
