At HES, we don't just offer tours; we create lifelong connections between our guests and the majestic wilderness of Sri Lanka.
Founded in 2010, Habarana Elephant Safari began as a small initiative by local wildlife enthusiasts who wanted to showcase the beauty of the Minneriya and Kaudulla National Parks while ensuring the protection of the 'Gathering'—the largest meeting of Asian elephants in the world.
Today, we operate a premier fleet of over 25 customized safari jeeps, each driven by experts who understand the intricate patterns of wildlife migration and behavior. Our deep roots in Habarana allow us to provide an authentic experience that goes beyond the typical tourist path.
100% Sustainable Practices
We operate with a commitment to integrity, safety, and the preservation of Sri Lanka's unique biodiversity.
Our safaris are designed to minimize environmental impact. We follow strict noise and proximity guidelines to ensure wildlife remains undisturbed in their natural habitat.
With over 15 years of operational excellence, safety is our top priority. Our fleet is maintained to the highest standards, and every driver is professionally licensed.
We believe in growing with our local community. Over 80% of our staff are from the Habarana area, and we actively support local farmers and artisans.
Eco-tourism is more than a buzzword at HES. It's the foundation of everything we do. We work tirelessly to ensure that the beauty we see today will be there for generations to come.
